Setup
Follow these steps to complete your Zipalti account setup through the Tax1099 portal.
- In Zipalti Hub, navigate to Administration > User Management.

Find the user. You can use the search box by typing the user's name and selecting the user from the populated list.
- Under the "General" section, toggle on the "Application Authorizer" permission.
If you don’t see the permission, submit a request to the Zipalti Support Team to enabled it.
- Log into the Tax1099 portal.
If you don’t have a Tax1099.com account, sign up for one for free using Zipalti’s referral link.
- In the left-hand menu, click "People" and then "Manage Payer".
- Click "Add Payer".
- Fill out the payer data and click "Add". The created payer is now available in the payer list on the Zipalti integration page.
If you have multiple entities, you need to create a payer for each entityAn entity can be a subsidiary, division, business unit, brand, etc. of your organization. Entities can have similar or different AP processes and workflows. for which 1099 forms need to be filed.

Navigate to Import > Zipalti.

From the "Select Payer" dropdown menu, select the payer that was created in Step 2.

Click "Connect" and perform the OAuth handshake process by logging in with the email address and password used to access Zipalti Hub.
Only users with "3rd Party App Subscriber" permission can perform this step.

After authenticating, click the "Allow" checkbox to allow the application to access its data and click confirm.
If you have multiple entities, you need to complete Step 3 for each payer for which 1099 forms need to be filed.
- Navigate to Import > Zipalti screen to open the "Load 1099 filling Data" wizard.
- In step 2 of the wizard, do the followings:
- In the "Choose your Zipalti Payer" field, select the payer.
- In the "Tax Year" field, select the year.
- In the "Form Name" field, select the form type.
- In step of the wizard, set the filters to filter the data by "Entity Type" and "Payer Entity".
- In step 3 of the wizard, do one of the following:
- Click "Load" to pull data from the 1099 preparation report into Tax1099 automatically using the API.
- Click "Select files" to upload the Zipalti 1099 Preparation report in CSV.
The 1099 Preparation report can be downloaded by navigating to Reports > Tax forms > 1099 preparation in Zipalti Hub.
If you are not using Zipalti's Bills module, you will need to download your 1099 preparation report and copy/paste the data into one of the files linked below. These files contain all the necessary column headers that the Tax1099 integration uses to correctly map the data. Please make sure to use the correct file depending on if you have a single entity or multiple entities with Zipalti.
Single entity
Multiple entities - Click "Next".
